Philippines Journal 2007 #20
I usually take off a day or two at the end of a mission trip to take the team sightseeing before heading back home. Today was it. We visited the 1000 Missionary Movement campus, which Zdravko was instrumental in starting in 1992. It is a place to train and send out young missionaries. The Taal Lake and volcano is nearby; and we got some good shots and view of that. The pizza place where we had lunch also gave us a fantastic view of the crater. We briefly popped by the ADRA office, and then grand tour of the Adventist Taj Mahal – the beautiful headquarters of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division of SDA.
Most of the team took the opportunity to ride on the public jeepney, and tricycle taxi. Many wanted to experience those in Gensan; but it would have been a nightmare for our security detail. When we returned from the tours, most rested or got prepared for the long journey home tomorrow by sleeping. Tonight we had a dinner together and shared our reflections about the trip. We heard some great stories. I’ve asked each person to put their thoughts in writing, so I can share them.
Thanks for your prayers for our safe journey home.
