Thai ’09 Journal 6

I got a good solid 3.5 hours sleep last night! Only Kelli and Miriama were up for breakfast. But everybody was there for lunch and orientation. It is going to be a super year. I haven’t found a bad fruit in the bunch. They are all so awesome. All are excitedly looking forward to the projects. The new outreach in the evenings also seems to have great possibilities. The project director came and met with us and laid out the plans. Also assisting him is Leona Gouge. She and her husband were at Mission College a number of years ago, then worked in Bangkok, and now have returned to the University. They are retired; but he will be teaching a number of courses. She will be great to work with; and she has offered to be our guide on the field trip on Sunday.

This afternoon I took the students to Tesco Lotus for a bit of shopping and hanging out. When we returned it was past Cafeteria closing time. But they waited for us! We are really being treated well. Fabulous people!

It is now about 3:15 Saturday morning, and I just brought Joselyn, Emma, Carol and Evelyn from the airport. They have been traveling since Tuesday. So we are at almost full force. Just Jason left to come; and he will come in a week’s time when he is completed his Greek course in Greece.

Though I wish I could be there with you, having your daily blog and pictures is the next best thing! God bless! We are praying for everyone!
