Thailand Mission and Cultural Trip 2012 - Journal 6
Day two of our mission endeavors had Danielle joining the English Camp. She worked on the farm weeding yesterday. But she admits that English Camp is hard work. Yet she thoroughly enjoyed it. On the farm, we tore down the rotting shed, and tomorrow we will work with two builders from the University in constructing the new one. We also presented the Presarns with a brand spanking new heavy duty weed-wacker. In the afternoon the farm team stayed in town and explored, shopping, and getting massages. Did I ever mention that a full hour, full body Thai massage is only about $6.00? The English Camp team went to Tesco Lotus to get supplies for their teaching, and do some shopping (mostly window-shopping) in a very ritzy outlet mall (which incidentally has a Starbucks). Today’s color was lime green; and lime greeners were all over town. We stood out as we moved around in packs! There was an increase in attendance at the evening English Camp. And that is usually the case over the years. Word seems to spread that Walla Walla is here! We ended the day at the Tuesday Night Market – the largest of the daily night markets.
