London Journal # 8

What a blessing this trip to London was for me and the church there. Although their expressions of appreciation were overwhelmingly positive, I may have been blessed more than they were. London is a wealth of gold for those who do missiology and multicultural studies. Witnessing and engaging in the discussions regarding the challenges the church faces as it struggles with the enormous immigrant population will transform my ministry and teaching. The church has long passed the stage of being a white European church. It became West Indian a long time ago. But now a major evolution is taking place: the Africans are becoming a significant dominant group. And believe it or not, last year the fastest growing congregation was a Portuguese one! I was so blessed to be part of the conversation and hopefully move the discussion, the praxis, and theological reflections a step forward.
