Thailand Mission and Cultural Trip 2014 - Journal 10
After church and the weekly church potluck we headed for the
orphanage in Lop Buri. We had a great
driver. He took the back, scenic route
and got there much faster. I was disappointed with the visit to the orphanage.
Only a few girls came out and they had to leave early for supper. We plan to go
back next week and hope it will be a better experience.
Our driver also took the back road to
Kanchanaburi, and
instead of the normal 4-hour drive, he did it in 2.5 hours! So we got there
before dark. I like this hotel; it is nice, overlooking the River Kwai; and
only costs 600bht ($18.00) per room.
Today is Rob’s birthday; so we celebrated it at the fancy
floating restaurant by the famous
bridge over the River Kwai. We also took a walk on the bridge.
We will awake early to be at the Tiger Temple at 7:15am.
Here is a reminder of where to find all the photos that I
have taken: http://people.wallawalla.edu/~pedrito.maynard-reid/gallery2/main.php/v/pedrito-travels/PedritosTravels2014/Pedritos+ThailandTravel2014/.
