Thailand Mission and Cultural Trip 2014 - Journal 4
Our first full day of cultural activities and fun! Started
off with a trip to Khao Yai National Forest. We did not see as much wildlife as
we have seen in the past. But we did see 3 monkeys, lots of deer, and leeches!
But we were not attacked to the same intensity as in the past. The hiking path
is now paved and oiled.
The waterfall at the end of the road way up in the mountain
was awesome – but because of recent
rains, it was browner than usual. The lunch
at that hole-in-the-wall restaurant by the waterfall was exceptional. The total
for the 5 of us was $10.00 (the same as at the Blue Restaurant)!
Then it was the elephant ride – a first time experience for
all on the team, and one of the main reasons that Tedi chose this Mission Trip
(it is off her bucket list and she gets to do mission work).
We then went to Tesco Lotus to get a huge bag of dog food
for the farm pets, and introduce Tedi to the TL experience. It was then back to
the Blue Restaurant for dinner.
The team then came and hung out at my room, where I taught
them to eat mango the Jamaican way; and they just crashed and had a good time.

Its not a mango until the juice drips off your elbows!!! What an amazing adventure.
Just catching up with your blog, Pedrito...this pic of Tedi on the bed is classic! She has loved elephants since she was very little...and the pics taken are indicative of the abject JOY she was feeling. So wonderful for this mama's heart.
