Thailand Mission and Cultural Trip 2013 - Journal 22

Goodbyes are always hard. Today’s was not different. We went to say goodbye to Uncle Prasarn and Aunt Nang. There was lots of tears and laughter. They have become family! All the equipment is in working order; even the TV got satellite signal. Uncle Prasarn made 6 hammocks for us, and Nang made a lot of pickled mangoes (which I have not tasted; but understand that it is quite different from what I’m accustomed to having).

We had one last dinner at the Blue Restaurant. Great time! Great meal!

For dessert we went to the President’s house where his wife, Shelley Agrey, prepared mango-sticky rice for us. We were stuffed.

Now we are packing and leaving for the airport in less than a couple hours. Our flight is at 5 in the morning. It is now just after 9:00pm on Monday night.
