Thailand Mission and Cultural Trip 2013 - Journal 13

Team with Lexie

The highlight of my day was seeing Lexie Bohlman. She was on our 2011 trip and is now spending an entire year here as a Student Missionary in Thailand. This has happened so often: A student comes on my Short Term trip; fall in love with Thailand and its people; and return for a year or permanently! Lexie and the farm team that year worked hard building the road, and simply fell in love with Aunt Nang and Uncle Prasarn. She is hoping that she can get away from her job one day this week and join us on the farm. That would be awesome!

My Orphanage girls
The next highlight of the day was our visit to the Orphanage. Wow! It is something you have to experience to understand. Those little girls are so sweet, and cling on to us in ways that just melt your heart. A group of young ladies from the Saraburi church visit with them once a month and this was their Sabbath to come. We had a great time together. I hope you can take some time to look at the precious photos that I have posted in my photo gallery: http://people.wallawalla.edu/~pedrito.maynard-reid/gallery2/main.php/v/ThailandCulturalandMissionTrip2013/PedritoThailandpictures2013/.

We are over-nighting in Kanchanaburi at a lovely hotel (I'll post photos tomorrow); and leave early in the morning for the Tiger Temple experience.
