Thailand Mission and Cultural Trip 2015 - Journal 4
The jetlag is almost gone for the team, because we kept
going all day; beginning with church at 10:30am. The International church
service is conducted in English in the church; and the service in Thai is done
in the auditorium.
We were guests for the delicious potluck after church, along
with a singing group from Bangkok. But we made up time and got to the farm. Uncle
Prasarn and Auntie Nang were so glad to see us. This was the first time that
Nang (who is still Buddhist) stayed for the entire Branch Sabbath School! We
understand that she has expressed interest in Christianity. I wouldn’t be
surprised if before long she make that decision.
But the big surprise (or surprises) was that they finally
have full electric power coming into the home from the public power company.
And they also now have a borehole well for fresh water supply. We had lots for
which to rejoice!
The climb to the top where the White Buddha sat was an
exhilarating experience for some and for others it demonstrated their age or
lack of certain types of exercise. But we all made it to the top. Because I
restructured the time this year, we were able to relax on this segment of our
outing more than former years.
The plan was to end the day eating at the Blue Restaurant.
But sadly we found it closed. We are hoping that the close is not permanent. We
found another delightful one; but the food was not of the same standard as the
Blue!
