Thailand Mission and Cultural Trip 2014 - Journal 19
We are on our way to the airport! Our flights are during the
6:00am hour. But there are lots of security check points before one gets on the
flight leaving Thailand. So I like to get
to the airport quite early. So we usually leave at 10:00 pm and arrive
before 1:00am. If we get through early, there is always shopping!
The highlight of the day was saying good-bye to Uncle
Prasarn, Aunt Nang and her sister, as well as the dogs. Those of you who have
been with us in the past know how emotional this is. Lots of tears and hugs! As
always, we always have shirts for each of them. And this time we I got another
20 kilo bag of dog food for the dogs from their sponsor. Uncle Prasarn made
hammocks for each team member
come and translate for us.
. They were so appreciative for all we did. He
also gave us a bag of dragon fruit. We could not eat it all so we shared it. We
were so fortunate to have Emil Kachchap
We have not been able to converse, because
they don’t speak English and we know no Thai. So today
was a breath of fresh
air. Susan also had gifts for them. And of course Tedi had to find her favorite
dog (which she called “Rangler,” and say good-bye.
We ended the day, as per tradition with dinner at the Blue
Restaurant. The total bill, including drinks and tips came to 300baht (about $10)!
CRAZY!
Getting ready to board the 6-hour flight to Tokyo; and then
the 10-hour flight to Portland. Blessings!
