Thailand Mission and Cultural Trip 2014 - Journal 14

Today at the Public school was Exercise Wednesday. Almost all the students exercised with hula hoop; and later Tiffany and Tedi wowed them with their hula hoop performance. Again I can’t say enough about that school and its wholistic program. Susan stayed on in the afternoon and had a blast with the Kindergarteners through third grades. They said that she was the first English speaking person to visit their classes.

At the farm we finished the pepper field. I’m still amazed how much we have accomplished for such a small group. We even had a little time to watch Rod climb the coconut tree and drink coconut water

Then we headed to a road side stand to find mangoes and jackfruit.
That was the first time they tasted the largest fruit in the world. As usual, by this time my teams are missing American foods. So we went into Muak Lek to the shop for such delicacies. They decided on hot dogs. So they came to my apartment to cook and eat. But they also were subjected to tasting Durian for the first time (except Susan who taste it before and did not partake again). The bottom-line is that they thought it was gross. But they had a fun time hanging around my guestroom.
