The social-spiritual-physical mission aspect of our trip
began today,

and will go for two weeks, Monday – Thursday. As always we begin
with a group devotional. Hannah Wood kicked it off with some inspiring
thoughts. Then we all went to the Elementary school where we were to receive
the official welcome. But it was raining. They postponed it until tomorrow. Alicia,
Hannah, Sarai, Jasmine, Krizelle, and Prof. Deanna, separated into two teams to
run the English camp. They reported that it was a lot of fun and the kids loved
them. Noah, Mackenzie, Olivia, Salina, and I formed the farm team. Today we
weeded a bean patch. How satisfied we were with the before and after pictures.
Oh, we brought three American

weed wackers, and Uncle Prasarn made bamboo
handles for them. The farm experience involves more than just the farm work.
Today, the dogs wanted to play too much – Noah had his face well licked! We
drank a lot of coconut water, ate avocado-pear, bananas, and boiled corn, etc. What a
delight to see Nang’s sister. The day we left last year, she was going in for
open heart surgery. Today she was with us hoe-

ing weeds! In the afternoon half
of the team got massages from one of the best massage establishment on the
planet. Thanks Jenny and Rose! The rest of us walked around the town, visiting
some special hangouts. Monday night market was a blast. Everything is so
inexpensive. I bought a whole lotta mangoes and avocado-pears for the team. We
seem to not be able to get enough! Ended the day at the Blue Restaurant. Such
good and inexpensive food! Thanks Tom. One last special thanks to the School of Nursing faculty for your love and the gift of durian!
