Thailand Mission and Cultural Trip 2015 - Journal 5
What an exciting day. It began at 8:30am when we left for
the rain forest (Khao Yai National Park), less than an hour away from the
University. We had good fortune to see monkeys on the roadside.
The leeches
were not in abundance, but a few found some good blood in some of the team
members. A highlight was the hike down to the waterfalls; where we got some great
photos.
I found the mango stand where I got great mangoes in the
past. We bought a lot; and the vendor shared generously with us.
Every year there is some new tradition that is started. This
year it was the Chocolate Factory. They were in heaven! We have to thank Spring
who happened to see the sign on the road; and she didn’t have to plead too hard
and request that we stop for a moment.
Every year Lorraine asks us to get a huge bag of dog food for
the dogs on the farm. We got 2 this year, because Kalene also wanted to donate
one. Kalene’s main purpose in coming on the trip these 3 years is for the
purpose of having special time with the dogs. I mentioned on Sabbath that not
only are our projects farming, teaching and health care, but it is animal love
and care as well. Thanks again Kalene and Lorraine.
