Thailand Journal 7 – Aug. 31

Today brings back memories of the events of 2011 on the farm. The floods of that year led us to build a road, mostly by hand. Many similarities with that year and today including the truck filled with gravel getting stuck in the mud; and having to purchase more tools (including a couple wheel barrows this year. We learnt our lesson from 2011). But unlike then the work today was on a much smaller scale. And we completed it in one day, thanks to the teaching team who came and joined Shane and myself in the afternoon. AND, the heavy down pour of rain didn’t deter or stop them in the least. We
really had too much fun to call it work. But the proof was in the pudding – we WORKED! Nang made some lovely treats for us. Not sure what it was. But it was wrapped in green banana leaf. Tasty! The teaching team continue to amaze me. There is never a moment that they are not interacting with the students! Jolene’s hair has been a hit. Thanks and shout-out to Nuny for the delicious lunch that she gives not only to the teaching team, but to the farming team, every day! Somedays she personally cooks some of the dishes. She and her team are amazing.
