Thailand Mission and Cultural Trip 2015 - Journal 21
We have been visiting Thailand since December of 2003. We have
had great teams, and successful and inspiring projects. This year was special,
with a special and exceptional team – one of the best! I would be delighted to have
every one of them with me on another Thailand trip. The proof in the pudding is
the fact that in all the projects, those on the receiving end dearly loved each
member of the team and want them to return. The send-offs were tearful with
hugs that were hard to be broken. Yes, the team worked intensely hard (hours in
the field on the farm; energetic teaching at the Public School; and hours of
healing ministry in the villages and towns). But their impact was felt in the
deep friendships that were formed with the Thai people – from the little Kindergarten
kids to the older disabled farmer and his wife; from the AIDS patient in the
Hospice to the longing-for-love-and-touch children at the Orphanage – impacts that
are long-lasting and deep.
Most persons who follow my FB posts and blogs will remember
the cultural outings – the elephant rides, the Tiger Temple excursion, the
Bangkok outings. These were exciting and worth every minute. They made the trip
truly wholistic – one of learning, fun, and balance.
Thanks to all for your prayers and support.
