Asia Journal ’24 - #12
On the way home with an overnight stop in Singapore. What a delight to see Daphne and Naomi (San) again. Those
of you who followed the Asia trip last year will remember Pastor Daphne. She was one of the sharpest students I’ve taught at the Ro
bert Webber Institute of Worship Studies (a niche graduate seminary that offers degrees in worship studies). In the few hours I’m here they took me on a stunning cable ride over the city; visited Little India, browsing through Mustafa Center (a humongous shopping center that has everything); and ending the day with a most delicious meal (on banana leaves) at a very stoosh Indian restaurant. Fabulous! Of course, the professional, academic, and fun conversations throughout the time together were not only stimulating, but produced insights that will be helpful, as well as good fodder for my research.
