Flew all night last night to Papua Indonesia. Did you know that Indonesia has 3 time zones? From Jakarta to Jayapura is like traveling from Seattle to Orlando. Google the map of Indonesia. It was such a blessing
to have Alice on the journey. Jim Yost was at the airport to meet us. Again, google him. He came out of the Jesus Movement in California in the 70s, and has been here for the last 46 years. Our visit to his place and our formal and informal interviews puts this interaction in the quality category as that of my visit with I-Toh Loh last year in Taiwan! Memorable and informative. His wholistic missiological practice and theory is straight down my alley, and lines up with that of the Jesus of the Gospels. I topped the day off by eating a bunch of different kinds of mangoes.
