Asia Journal ’24 - #7

 

Today we traveled back to Jakarta. This morning, we got a tour of the schools operated by Alice’s denomination. They are doing an amazing job. The founder believed that education is a vital part of the denominational identity. They produce some of the brightest students in Indonesia. Incidentally, I passed many SDA churches; but didn’t have the time to stop and get acquainted. Also found out that Sentani, where the airport is, and Jim Yost’s ministry is headquartered, is also where the SDA aviation ministry in Indonesia is stationed. The Roberts (father and son) were based here, Jim told me, and Heidi Sherman-Roberts confirmed. I’m now back in Jakarta on the way to Malaysia in the morning. Ended the day with a lovely meal with Alice’s family, and staying at the Ibis Suites overnight.
