Thai Journal ‘25 - #12

Deanna left this morning. She is already greatly missed. Alihia had to leave early as well. After Doug led out in worship, we all went to the Elementary school for the final farewells. It is always a special moment when gifts are exchanged and deep appreciations are expressed – especially, when each of the kids say a personal thank-you and “see you next year!” At the farm we finished fertilizing the corn. Nang got a final massage from Keziah, which she so much appreciated. After lunch at the elementary school, the long and emotional goodbyes were said again.

Then it was off for the 4-hour drive to Bamboo School. As per usual, we stopped by Kalene Dittman’s favorite factory (Rai Khun Ying, in Kanchanaburi) to get some beans for her. The owner gave us a couple bags of gooseberries, which he says are hard to come by and are good for numerous ailments. The arrival at Bamboo School is always electric – with the kids singing to welcome us; dinner; and lots of stories from Momo Cat; etc.
