Thai Journal ‘25 - #8

Today was dedicated to the annual tour of the Muak Lek Hospital. Kyle began the day with a lovely devotional before we embarked on the tour. They treated us like royalty. After a detailed PowerPoint presentation, we had an open conversation. The team members asked great questions. I was so proud of them. Since our group was so large, we were divided into two groups to go on an impressive tour of all parts and aspects of the hospital. This is a public hospital unlike any other I know about. It is wholistic. Besides the traditional medical care, it has a fantastic garden

to feed its patients (the kale program is the most impressive; and there is a Jamaican cherry tree); and great non-traditional medicine programs, including massage and acupuncture. The team was impressed, especially the nursing students. In the afternoon we drove to Pak Chong to have lunch at McDonald, which everyone agrees doesn’t come close to the awesome Thai food we have been eating. We bought tons of socks for the elementary school children, to add to the tons of school supplies we purchased a couple days ago. We did some shopping at the Premium Outlet Mall; ate dinner again at Srifa; and began the Sabbath with Vespers with the APIU family.
