Thailand Mission and Cultural Trip 2012 - Journal 12

Everyone is doing better today. Four stayed in this morning and recuperated. The two who were affected the most were eating a big plate of food for dinner. We all took it easier today. Yet all our projects went well.

The big sad news at the farm is that the pump that we got for them a year ago, was stolen over the weekend. Nothing like this has happened before to this poor family. I suspected that someone thinks that a bunch of rich Americans are taking care of them, and they want to share in the goodies via theft! We of course will replace it (it costs approximately $300.00). Tomorrow the head of the University’s Plant Services will come over and make a plan to secure the new one. Also we have decided to put a slab of concrete as flooring for the shed. It has just been a dirt floor, and we feel that a concrete floor would be easier to clean and provide a healthier environment. This will cost approximately $200.00. If anyone of my blog readers wishes to make a tax deductible contribution to these 2 projects, kindly contact me at pedrito@wallawalla.edu.
