Thai Journal ‘23 - #8
A number of highlights these past two days: I got to see Steve Rose (who was my colleague for 15 years when he was VP for Finance at WWU). He was visiting the university here with about 70 pastors from the China Mission. I also had a wonderful visit with the new president of the university, Dr. Jarurat. She, as all the presidents before her, is very supportive of our Thailand outreach, and our stay on their campus, and the use of their facilities. Uncle Prasarn finally got his wheel chair. The folks at the Maintenance Department made a creative adjustment to the left foot rest; and it is working like a charm. Deanna, Keziah, and Mitchel gave Nang a most needed and welcomed foot and back massage. We are almost finished weeding the pepper field. But since there was a good downpour of rain last
night we spent the morning fertilizing a large cornfield. We donated the 6 large bags of the fertilizer. We covered the entire field this morning. Keziah got to drive the pickup. As always it is a delight for students who can drive stick-shift to drive an old car (sometimes without power steering!) on the farm. Lots of fun at the school. The teachers are doing all kinds of creative interactive things that the students really enjoy. It was fun to see Erik playing “football” with his students. Oh, I should mention that the daily morning worship by the team members are so appropriate and timely. This morning’s by Mitchel was unique as we wrote on each other’s back our thankful thoughts about them, and also something for which we are thankful to God.
