Thailand Journal 12 – Sept. 5
participate in two wonderful events: First, the opening of one of 7 homes for the homeless. A joint project by the police and the school district. It was an honor to have the District Governor and the Chief of Police as the main guest. It was truly a cultural experience. Second, the planting of thousands of seed via sling shots. Last Friday the students placed the seeds in small clay balls; and today we all had so much fun firing them away into the nearby countryside. In the afternoon, while some enjoyed a massage, Elton and I went to the farm to make more tire structures for the dragon fruit plants. Crazy work trying to bore holes in the tires. But Sumuchayar at the hardware store (where we have been doing business for the last 9 years) came to the rescue with a battery electric drill. Our work tomorrow will be so much more efficient. We ended the day with a fabulous pizza meal at Wayne and Sarapee Hamara’s house. Such wonderful friends!
