Thailand Journal 1 – Aug. 25, 2017

We all arrived safely in Thailand about midnight Thursday. The members of the team are: JoLene Danielson (Assistant Team Leader), Andrew Glencross, Andrew Yamada, Barbara Chavez, Brenda Sotelo, David Shepherd, Jacqueline Grange, Jasmine Rodriquez, Jonathan Muriu, Kelsey Landa, Nathan McGhee, and myself. First stop (as always), 7-Eleven to use the “restroom” and pick up

snacks at 4:00am. We arrived at the University at 5:00am. They went to bed. I still have yet to make contact with the bed.

To beat the jet-lag we kept busy all day. Started up with getting our phone set up with Sim-cards and a walk about town; then trip orientation. We were then off to the adventure of the roadside market (with fruits galore – mangoes, mangosteen, durian, jackfruit, dragon fruit, etc., etc.); and the annual pilgrimage to Tesco Lotus. The traditional eating at The Pizza Company and ice cream at Swensen’s was broken because of the major construction of the  Ended the evening at Vespers. We are tired enough to sleep very well tonight.

Tesco Lotus Mall. Therefore, we went to the Blue Restaurant for dinner. They did not disappoint!
