Thailand Journal 15 – Sept. 8

Brenda began the day with a memorable devotion about her parents coming to America as immigrants. As is tradition, the entire team worked on the farm on the final Friday. We weeded a pumpkin patch, and drank a lot of coconut water. Then we were treated to a veritable feast. Everyday Nang’s sister prepares something new. In addition, today Chokechai made a special dish from his home country of Myanmar. Another first for the Thailand Trip is a Night Safari at Khoa Yai. Dr. Wayne Hamra, took us on a safari looking for the many animals that make the park their home. We didn’t see many new animals; but it was fun looking for them, and spotlighting after dark. A highlight was a monkey making a fast entry into the open van door, stealing a banana, and making just as rapid an exit. Andrew Yamada had to be back at University for RA retreat. He left at 5:00am. He is missed.
