Thailand Journal 18 – Sept. 11

We were able to sleep in a bit this morning before heading up to the farm to say goodbye and to give the traditional gifts. Lorraine and Kalene, we gave dog food on your behalf, and chicken food on behalf of Spring. However, this year we gave a banner (as suggested by the AIU Marketing office) celebrating the new road. We also gave Uncle Prasarn a health mattress that will aid with the long hours he lays on his back, and avoid bedsores. They gave us bags of banana chips – one of our favorite foods that they served us daily. We then took a box of English Journals for the kids at the Elementary School. These were created by JoLene and members of the team. However, Nuny was not there today to receive the surprise. We ended the day at the Blue Restaurant (the owner treated us to a very special ice cream), and at Van Coffee sipping on Thai Tea. We will leave here at 5:00am to catch planes at 10:00am.
