Thailand Journal 8 – Aug. 30, 2019
Jasmine began our day with a blessed devotional. Again if
was a fun day for the teachers at the school. I asked them what stood out. A
favorite was Jasmine touching moment with one of the boys who lost his dog last
night. Our team members are doing much more than teaching English! On the farm
it rained most of the morning. That did not deter the team. They donned their
ponchos and worked with rain coming down and sweat pouring out! This team
worked so fast that we ran out of fertilizer. While I went into town to
purchase more, the neighbors fed them a lovely dish of tapioca pudding, coconut
milk, and corn. Again they surprised me: We finished the entire plot. This is
one of the best farm team in our 12 years working this farm! Kudos guys! In the
afternoon the van got a good wash inside and out – spanking new for $15.00.
Some of the team walked around the town and found a lovely new beverage place. Another
great dinner at the Blue restaurant. Then everyone came to my room to have
mango sticky rice prepared especially for us by Dr. Wayne’s wife, Sarapee
Hamara. It was heavenly! We ended the day at Vespers – a musical program by a
visiting choir from Malaysia.
