Caribbean Cruise 2022 - Day One

 

My sister got a complimentary cruise on the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas, and invited me to join her during my spring break. This is an 8-day trip to the Dutch islands in the Caribbean. With COVID-19 still in the air, the protocols are super stiff. Everyone has to be vaccinated with booster shots. And everyone, without exception, has to have a negative test within the last two days! So we are feeling fairly safe.

It's a lovely boat with all the amenities that cruising provides. But I look
forward to tomorrow when we make our first stop in St. Maarten and do a 4-hour land tour. I should note that landing in Puerto Rico this morning was nostalgic. I spent 5 years here at Antillian University. It was like coming home.
