Thailand Journal 15 – Sept. 6, 2019:
Thanks Deanna for ending the devotional series with an
appropriate message on “Thanks.” The entire team went to the farm on this last
day of labor, as is our tradition. We got through quite a bit; but not
as much,
because we had so much fun eating food provided by Auntie Prakong, and Atid, as
well as taking memorable photos [note how Mackenzie and Noah handled the
machete and a flying coconut!]. In the afternoon we were off on the long
journey to Bamboo School in Kanchanaburi. On the way there we stopped to have
dinner at the restaurant that we ate at every year after we visited the Tiger
Temple. The Bamboo School is an amazing experience. You have to hear for
yourselves the stories that Momo Cat shared with us. We are coming back next
year. So come on thetrip then and hear for yourselves. The singing of the kids was so much like the singing at the orphanage in Mae Sot on our first full mission trip in 2004. Renee Goff and Howard Vandemark were part of that trip, and they both returned to Thailand and served at this Bamboo School. Momo Cat said that her best student missionaries came from Walla Walla. The Vespers tonight was marvelous. It always ends with a unique communion service where hands are washed instead of feet. We were all blown away with the total experience. Looking forward to tomorrow.
