Thai Journal ‘24 - #9

Today was filled with medical activities. Alyse began the day with a lovely devotional, and then we went

to the Muak Lek Hospital for our annual tour. They treated us like royalty. After a detailed PowerPoint presentation, we were taken on an impressive tour of all parts and aspects of the hospital. This is a public hospital unlike any other I know about. It is wholistic. Besides the traditional medical care, it has a fantastic garden to feed its patients (the kale drink was fresh from the garden); and great non-traditional medicine programs, including massage and acupuncture. The team was impressed, especially the nursing students. In the afternoon we drove to

Pak Chong to donate blood for Auntie Nang’s sister who is very ill. More than half our group filled out the forms to donate (though a couple we sadly disqualified). This team is so awesome in so many ways! We did some shopping at the Premium Outlet Mall; ate dinner again at Srifa; witnessed a gorgeous sunset; and began the Sabbath with Vespers with the APIU family.
