I didn’t plan to preach on this trip or any of the trips on these research journeys. But today I preached

again for the third time in the 4 days that I’m here. This time at the English church. Most of the congregants were African students at a local university. It’s usually a fuller attendance. But it’s summer break. The contrast between the two churches surprised me. I thought the Indian church would be more low-key and traditional, and the African would be more alive and use more African musical modes. But it was just the opposite. It was good data for my research. We had a great potluck at the president’s home; followed by an engaging Sabbath afternoon conversation with Pastor Shrikant.
