Asia Journal ’26 - #6:
Yesterday was the final day in Punjab. What a wonderful day it was. We visited three worship services: A Presbyterian and two Pentecostal churches. All three were culturally Indian and not much European modality, especially in the music. Our hosts were the Adventist pastor of the local church and a number of his elders. The church is the mother church of Punjab. It is located in a kind of mecca of Adventism in the region; with more than four hundred members in that little village. This region of Jalandhar has 1.3 million people. We got a good view of it from the back of motorcycles. It was a great experience. Before
returning to campus, they took us to a fabulous Indian restaurant to try more fabulous new foods. Another fabulous experience! Pastor Shrikant Shendikay from the Division Office sat down with me for an hour-long interview. Then he took us out to dinner. And what a dinner it was at 10pm! All the Conference officers and their families were there. It was a superb celebration of thanks to them for their wonderful hospitality. It was an unforgettable time. Now on to West Bengal. Here is the Flickr link for all my photos thus far: https://www.flickr.com/photos/143715478@N06/albums/72177720334354736.
