Thai ’09 Journal 14

I’m convinced that if Jesus were here today in Muak Lek he would have joined us in the Village of Ban Hail-laad. As part of it local evangelistic program in Thailand, the Thailand Mission of Seventh-day Adventist conducts all day health fairs in villages across the country. As was the case last year, we joined the nursing students and visiting doctors and health practitioners in a variety of health care activities – eye examination and fitting glasses, dental, general family and personal health issues, pharmacy, etc. The President of the SDA church in Thailand, Pastor Somchai Chuenjit, who is spearheading this project, was there as well. I must admit, though, that last year our team was more involved than this year. They had to struggle to get things to assist with. But half of the team was quite involved. Next year Pastor Somchai plans to arrange for us to spend the weekend with some of the hills people in a similar out reach.

Our last team member, Jason Bush, arrived today. He was in Greece finishing up his biblical languages requirement for his Theology degree. We are happy to have him, and he is happy to be here and gung-ho to go!
