Thailand Journal 6 – Aug. 26, 2018

The events of today – the penultimate day before the projects begin:
Adventure in Khao Yai rainforest (leeches included); riding elephants; lesson in how to eat mango properly; visit to the chocolate factory; shopping at the Premium Outlet Mall; eating dinner at the food stands on campus. It was supposed to rain all day. It didn’t until we were on our way home. Got to see waterfalls, deer, monkeys, some up and personal encounters with leeches, etc. Great rides on the elephants. Even Gaby rode on the head! The mango eating and show and tell was, as always, an
experience for the newbies! They were not as excited about the
chocolate factory as teams in previous years; so we went to the outlet mall, where I got some red hot sales on shoes. We ended the day with supper on campus. The school allows food vendors to sell meals (in stalls constructed by the students) after 7:00pm. Cheap and good. Tomorrow we work, in the traditional sense of the word.
