Thai Journal ‘24 - #11

 

Just a day of relaxing, walking on the beach and watching the sunrise and observing the sand worms at

work, walking through the little main street with its mom-and-pop shops, and eating more fantastic food than our stomachs could hold. As always, a highlight is having our final meal at the famous Pad Thai restaurant. We have become good friends with the family. They even have a photo of a previous year’s group on the wall. The grandmother started the restaurant 50 years ago with her special pad thai recipe. And the three generations of the family continue to operate it. We arrived back on campus safely, but in a heavy downpour of rain – the first since we arrived.
