Thailand Journal 13 – Sept. 2, 2018

Today we simply relaxed at a beach on Ko Samet (Samed) island, and did a bit of exploring the little shops and vendors on the beach. The imposing statue that greets visitors to the island is a character in the epic, 48,700-line Thai poem, which took 20 years to compose (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phra_Aphai_Mani). As I write, we are on our 5-hour journey to AIU – all energized for a second week of work and service on the farm and at the school.
