Thailand Journal 15 – Sept. 4, 2018
‘Twas a marvelous day that began with a lovely devotional by
Mari. It was a delight to have Enrique Vado join us via FaceTime. At the farm
we changed pace and fertilized the bulk of the cornfield. Wish the weeding
could go as fast! Though it was a very hot day, some of us returned in the
afternoon for more weeding. Inez tried the Thai way of being fully covered in
the sun. It worked! There was a worker on the farm who spoke English. He
learned it from Google Translate on his tablet! Lots of fun at the school. They
taught the students the game, “Simon Says.” The kids googled, “Who is Simon?” We
all are still laughing. Sandy brought lots of bubbles and gave to the school
kids. They had fun. We went at 4:30 to the Tuesday Night Market. It’s the largest of the night markets. Ended the day at the Blue Restaurant. I became friends on Facebook with the owner and chef, Tom Sifrah. If you are ever in Muak Lek, that’s the place to eat. We call it the “Blue Restaurant.” We have been going there for the past 10 years. This is the third time on this trip. He gave us complimentary dessert. As we were about to leave, the heavens opened up and doused some of us. The team in the van was on a “high.” I didn’t know that they had so much fun in them. It is a great group.
