Thailand Journal 16 – Sept. 5, 2018

A stressful day began well with Inez giving the devotional. The stress began with the drive on a very, very muddy road by the farm. It was like driving on ice in the winter with regular smooth tires! Parked a ways off and walked back to the farm. There was no gas in the pickup when we arrived.
While we walked another ways away to the corn field, Nang drove the tractor to get gas. The mud was heavy in the field. I wasn’t feeling too well this morning. It could be the 5 coconuts I drank and ate yesterday. But by midmorning I was well and back to normal;
insomuch that I could enjoy the fried bananas Nang made for us. It was a good and normal day at the school. But some of the older guys and a teacher tried some “pick up” lines on some of our team members. They weren’t successful. In the afternoon we visited Palio (“Little Italy”) shopping center. It really had that Italian feel. This was the first time that any of the teams visited there; though we passed it many times. The rains poured again on the journey home. It was stressful driving on the busy highway in the dark. But God was good!
