Thailand Journal 20 – Sept. 14, 2022
Today was dedicated to audit a previous project, and have conversations regarding future needs at the
Thepsadet school. The current president of Chiangmai Rotary, Mr. Anupong, and past president Mr. Visith (whose local bank handles the finances that we send annual to Thailand) were my hosts. The water systems that Rotary installed are functioning well. The Library and Teaching Equipment Center was a major project jointly sponsored by clubs in Japan, Australia, Chiang Mai, and our Noon Walla Walla Rotary. A member of the royal family was there for the opening. The computers have been upgraded; and the old set of books for the library are being replaced. One of the
projects that is under discussion, is the kitchen. The photos speak louder than words! Many of the toilets are not functioning as well. It was a rainy-day way up there in the mountains north of Chiang Mai. But is was beautiful. Notice how the school is nestled in a valley thousands of feet above sea level. Since I last visited, the area has become a major coffee plantation (and tourist resort) similar to the Blue Mountains in Jamaica. Speaking of Jamaica: Bob Marley and Rasta is even here in Thailand!
