Thailand Journal 10 – Sept. 4, 2022

 I’m feeling a little better today, even though a little weak – but strong enough to get in my minimum of
10,000 steps! I wish I was that strong last night to see the team enjoying themselves on the beach as they learned and participated in the Thai dances. Lots of fun. For the past five trips we have eaten at the Pad Thai Mae Hoi Pim restaurant before boarding the boat. The lady (who owns the restaurant remembered me from previous years) also gave me a beautiful souvenir shirt. I should mention again this year, that the imposing statue that greets visitors to the island is a character in the epic, 48,700-line Thai poem, which took 20 years to compose (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phra_Aphai_Mani). The trip home was not without a bit of drama: a section of the highway was
flooded. But we obviously made it through. Thanks for your prayers and support.
