Thailand Journal 18 – Sept. 12, 2022

Today was a free day before departure tomorrow morning. But I’ve been running like a chicken without a
head all day – just like I do every year on the last day! We got in after midnight from shopping; and I got 4 hours and 44 minutes of some deep solid sleep. It was a day of saying goodbyes. First at Prasarn, Nang, and Prakong. As always it was emotional. Keziah got a basket for them; and she and fellow nurses made more dressing for Prasarn. They gave us bags of banana chips. Then on to see Nuny and Theme

at the school. Elton Narciss will be delighted to know that his little boy is graduating this year, and was most grateful for the generous gift he sent for him. Next stop, Jenny and Rose at the massage parlor. Highlight of that stop was the joint prayer by the sisters for one of out team members. Finally made some quick stops to say goodbyes to friends and business acquaintances in in town: Tom at the Blue Restaurant; Sop, at the hardware store; the pharmacist; the grocery store sisters; the telephone store owner; etc. After I got all the finances in order we left for the airport at 6:00pm. But not before more emotional goodbyes. The team is on the midnight flight to Korea, and I catch a 6:45am flight to Chiang Mai, for the second part of my trip to Thailand.
