Asia Journal 8

‘Twas a HIGH day in Hong Kong! Began the day meeting one of the foremost missiologist in Asia, David

Wang (who like myself, studied under Peter Wagner at Fuller Theological Seminary), and Simon Ng (who received his DWS from IWS, and also a very significant voice in the area of worship in China). Then in the afternoon met with Hoiling Poon (an Art ethnodoxologist) and Yvette Lau, both pursuing doctoral degrees in the field of worship. For dinner a number of alumni from Robert Webber Institute for Worship Studies (where I am the professor for Cross Cultural Worship Studies) took me out to dinner, celebrated my birthday, and engaged in a fruitful conversation regarding my research. These conversations (and the meetings with such significant

scholars and practitioners) have gone way beyond my expectations. Cherly was my host for the day. She took me through some streets, which were the equivalent to the Thailand Night Markets. Note in the picture there are Jamaican Otaheite apples! Then there was a street known at Gold Fish street. Most of the shops only sell gold fish. Note the pharmacy for pets! The most comprehensive transportation system I have seen anywhere in the world. I rode on the subway, buses, tramcar, ferry, taxi, etc! It was an amazing  3 days.
