Singapore! Here I come! My first time to this country. It was a long-time dream of mine to visit this land. But it was when I met Daphne Lau, who was one of my sharp students in MWS 504, that I was determined to come and see her in her element as a pastor of worship. More on that in Sunday’s blog next week. After the 4-hour flight from Hong Kong, she and her “Personal Assistant,” Naomi, came to pick me up at the airport. After settling at my hotel and touring the famous colorful houses on Koon Seng Road (reminded me of Bermuda and Aruba) they took out for my third birthday celebration this week. This time at local restaurant with Peranakan cultural dishes. An interesting one was the jackfruit curry – including the fruit and the seeds. The Cendol dessert was also new. It was all good and filling. We then drove to Marina Bay Sands Mall and took in the beautiful sights over the harbor. Today was a day of R&R. Tomorrow we mix it up with work.
